Chesterfield Football Club have signed Richard O’Donnell.

The 23-year-old goalkeeper was available on a free transfer, having been released by Sheffield Wednesday following the end of his contract.

O’Donnell hasn’t had to wait long to find a new club, though, with the Spireites making him their first signing of the summer on a one-year contract.

The shot-stopper came through the youth ranks at Hillsborough, making 20 appearances for the Owls during his time at the recently promoted Championship side.
