Rotherham United have accepted defeat in their pursuit of Jack Midson.
Millers manager Steve Evans has made no secret of his admiration for the AFC Wimbledon striker, and hoped to lure him from their League Two rivals.
However, the Dons rejected an offer for Midson last week, and now the United manager has confirmed he will not be making a renewed bid for his signature.
“They wanted a certain figure and to be fair I think the deal is now dead,” he told the official club site. "The figure they have indicated is beyond where I would value him."
