Valencia remain hopeful of keeping hold of Jordi Alba.

As Sir Alex Ferguson looks for an eventual replacement for Patrice Evra in his Manchester United side, the Spanish international is said to be a top target.

However, although Alba will soon be in the final year of his contract at the Mestalla, Los Che have denied receiving any offers for the 23-year-old left fullback.

"We have not received a formal offer for him. Jordi Alba still has a deal with us until June 2013,” sporting director Braulio Vazquez said. “We have not negotiated with anybody. This is the truth."
