Manchester United Football Club have failed with a bid for Kwadwo Asamoah.

After a rare trophyless season at Old Trafford, Sir Alex Ferguson is desperate to shake up his options as he looks to claw the league title back from rivals City.

The United boss has made Asamoah one of his top targets, having received a number of glowing reports of the Udinese midfielder’s performances this season.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Reds have failed with an opening offer of £12million for the 23-year-old Ghanaian, who is also wanted by Italian champions Juventus.
