West Ham United Football Club have been linked with Tranquillo Barnetta.

The Switzerland international missed much of the season with a knee injury, and with his contract at Bayer Leverkusen set to expire, his future has been of some speculation.

It has now been confirmed that although the German club were willing to hand the 27-year-old a new deal to extend his stay, both parties have failed to reach an agreement.

Barnetta will now move on ahead of the new season, and early reports suggest Sam Allardyce is keen to add him to his recently promoted Hammers squad.
