Chelsea Football Club are set to launch a bid for Ezequiel Lavezzi.

The Argentina international is regarded as one of the best talents in Italian football, where he remains under contract at Napoli.

Roman Abramovich is keen to lure Lavezzi to Stamford Bridge, and the Serie A club have confirmed they face a battle to keep hold of the forward.

“The contract is clear,” president Aurelio de Laurentiis told Sky Sport 24. “Whoever wants to sign him will have to pay the release clause.”

Having already sealed deals for Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, it appears Lavezzi, who can be bought for £26million, is next on the Blues list.
