Rodgers set for Liverpool unveiling
Brendan Rodgers will be named as Liverpool’s new manager on Friday.
The Reds have been in the market for a new boss since sacking Kenny Dalglish at the end of what was a hugely disappointing Premier League season.
Whilst the Scot led the Anfield club to Carling Cup glory – their first trophy since 2006 – and an FA Cup final, they finished a staggering 37 points behind champions Manchester City.
A number of names had been mentioned as potential successors to Dalglish, but the Merseyside club have settled for Northern Irishman Rodgers.
The 39-year-old led Swansea City to an 11th place finish after leading them to Premier League promotion, whilst playing an attracting and attacking style of football.
Liverpool have now agreed a compensation package with the Liberty Stadium club, and Rodgers, having also agreed terms on a contract, will be unveiled on Friday.
