Sunderland set to turn to Hooper
08:00 PM 02 June, 2012
Sunderland Football Club are set to make a move for Gary Hooper.

Martin O’Neill is eager to bolster his attacking options during the summer, and was initially hoping to take Stephen Fletcher from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, the Black Cats boss is reluctant to meet the £10million asking price for the Scotland international, who he rates at little over half this amount.

O’Neill is now thought to have turned his attention to Celtic ace Hooper, who scored 29 goals last term, and he feels he can land the 24-year-old for £6million.
