Clive Platt is relishing the opportunity at Northampton Town Football Club.
The 34-year-old has rejected a new contract at Coventry City in favour of dropping into League Two, where he has linked up with Aidy Boothroyd’s Cobblers.
Platt has revealed his decision to do so was based on the ambition of the Sixfields Stadium club, who will be gunning for promotion next term.
"It is a new challenge for me with a club that is in League Two and is looking to do well in that division next year, so I can't wait to be a part of that," he told Sky Sports.
"I'm getting to the twilight of my career at the age of 34 and I felt that going to a club where there are goals in the forefront matched what I want to do.”
