Aquilani set for Liverpool talks
09:00 PM 03 June, 2012
Brendan Rodgers is keen to hold talks with Alberto Aquilani.

The Italian international joined the Reds from Roma in a near-£20million deal in the summer of 2009, but he endured a miserable debut season in England.

Aquilani has spent the two subsequent seasons on loan at Juventus and Milan, but the latter appear to have declined the opportunity to take the 27-year-old permanently.

Aquilani is now due back at Anfield ahead of next season, and new manager Brendan Rodgers has not entirely discounted the midfielder from his plans.

"The boy Aquilani is a wonderful talent and a terrific player but he might not be able to settle," the Northern Irishman, who was unveiled on Friday, told the official club site.

"He might not be able to adapt to the country so you've got all those issues and sometimes you're not aware of that until you sit down and speak to the people."
