Crystal Palace insist they have not been approached for Nathaniel Clyne.

The 21-year-old is out of contract at Selhurst Park this summer, but due to his age the Eagles can still negotiate a compensation fee should he decide to move.

It has been suggested that Newcastle United have already made an approach for Clyne, but the Championship side have acted quickly to deny such claims.

"I read them and they are not true," Palace co-chairman Steve Parish told the South London Press. "It's completely made up - I hate using those words but they just got bad information.”
