Robert Lewandowski has played down reports linking him with Manchester United.

The Reds are in the market for a new striker, and they have been heavily linked with the free-scoring Borussia Dortmund ace who hit 22 goals in 34 league games last term.

It was suggested by the Poland coach that Lewandowski is Old Trafford bound, but the 23-year-old, who scored in the 1-1 Euro 2012 draw with Greece, has played down these comments.

“I am so happy to score this goal in the opening match. But I'm not going to concentrate on these issues (joining United),” said the 23-year-old. “I'm totally focused on the national team."
