Everton Football Club are thought to be interested in Alessandro Gamberini.

The defender is in the final year of his contract at Fiorentina, and he has been linked with a summer transfer away from the club he currently captains.

It is believed the Toffees are prepared to rival Napoli for the signature of the 30-year-old, although agent Francesco Romano insists no offers have yet been made.

"There are no concrete offers, only rumours,” he told Corriere Di Napoli. "Gamberini has another year on his Fiorentina contract and I will meet them next week to understand their intentions.

"Alessandro has always given priority to Fiorentina and so, until we have spoken with the club and the coach, we will not look at other options."
