Although the Championship club are hoping to persuade the 24-year-old to sign a new deal, if he refuses they could well face little option but to cash in.

Paul Lambert tried to sign Snodgrass for Norwich City last summer, and now in charge of Villa, he is set to make an initial offer of £3.5million to land the winger.
