Fernando Gago has been linked with a move to Manchester United Football Club.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already signed Shinji Kagawa this summer, but it is no secret that the Reds boss is still keen to further boost his midfield options.

Argentine international Gago is out of favour at Real Madrid and spent last season on loan at Roma, who have decided against taking him permanently.

Sport Italia claim the 26-year-old has now emerged as a target for United, who have already made enquiries regarding the availability of the player.

Out of contract in 12 months time, Ferguson would not be wanting to spend big on Gago, and would likely hope to land him for around £6million.
