Kevan Hurst has joined Southend United Football Club.
The 26-year-old was released by League One side Walsall earlier this summer, after making 37 appearances during his only season at the Midlands club.
It hasn’t taken long with Hurst to find a new club though, after agreeing to drop down a division and join Southend on a two-year contract.
The midfielder becomes Paul Sturrock’s first signing of the summer, as he looks to bounce back from last season’s playoff semi-final final loss to Crewe Alexandra.
