Queens Park Rangers are keen on David Bentley, but only on an initial loan.
The former England international has seen his career stall since his move to Tottenham Hotspur, who paid Blackburn Rovers £15million for him in 2008.
Bentley has spent time on loan at Birmingham City and last season at West Ham United, although injury cut his time short at Upton Park.
The 27-year-old still has two years left on his Spurs deal, but his former Rovers manager Mark Hughes wants to take him to Loftus Road.
The White Hart Lane club would naturally prefer to recoup some of the cash they paid for his signature, but Rangers want him on an initial loan deal.
