Davide Santon’s stay at Newcastle United could be a brief one.

It was considered something of a coup when Alan Pardew signed the Italian last summer, but the youngster endured a difficult debut season in England.

The former Internazionale ace eventually made 24 appearances in the Premier League, but it is widely accepted that he struggled to find his best form.

Although Santon, who has seven full caps for the Azzurri, remains under contract until 2016, both Lazio and Roma are set to offer £5million for his signature.
