David Moyes has revealed Everton are set to step up their bid to sign Steven Pienaar.

The South African international is a hugely popular figure at Goodison Park, having become a fans favourite before his move to Tottenham Hotspur in January 2011.

Pienaar failed to impress at White Hart Lane and was back with the Toffees when the New Year window opened, seeing last season out at the club on loan.

Moyes now wants to take the 30-year-old on a permanent basis, and has revealed he is about to step up his chase for the talented midfield player.

"We are keen [on Pienaar] and I hope in time we would be able to conclude that deal," he said. "My next job in the coming weeks is to get Steven Pienaar here.”
