Liverpool are expected to make a fresh move for Esteban Granero.

It was reported in the Daily Mail earlier this week that the Merseyside giants had failed with an offer for the 25-year-old Real Madrid star.

Granero, who is in the final 12 months of his contract at the Bernabeu, has struggled for regular action under Jose Mourinho, making just 17 appearances last term.

Brendan Rodgers remains keen to lure the 25-year-old to Anfield ahead of the new season, and is now expected to table an improved offer of around £7million.
