Aston Villa are lining up an offer for Jonny Howson.

Paul Lambert signed the midfielder for Norwich City last January, when he took advantage of the player being in the last six months of his Leeds United contract.

Howson enjoyed a fine second half of the season at Carrow Road, and he is now being lined up for a reunion with his former boss at Villa Park.

Lambert has made the 24-year-old one of his top targets ahead of the new season, and is prepared to offer the Canaries a fee of £5million for his signature.
