Jonny Howson has played down reports linking him with Aston Villa.

Paul Lambert signed the midfielder for Norwich City in January, and he now wants to take him to Villa Park ahead of the new season.

A bid of around £5million is said to be in the pipeline for Howson, but the 24-year-old insists he is fully focused on helping the Canaries in the coming campaign.

“The club has been on the up the last three seasons, and we have to keep up the hard work. We still have all the players here and I am sure we can do it,” he said.
