Arsene Wenger insists he is not looking to lure Yann M’Vila to Arsenal.

The Gunners boss was keen to sign his French compatriot last summer, but couldn’t agree a price for his signature with Ligue 1 side Rennes.

It had been heavily reported that Wenger would finally land M’Vila ahead of the coming season, but he insists he is not looking to sign the 22-year-old midfielder.

"No [I am not interested]," he told the club's official website. "In defensive midfielders and box-to-box players we are not short if they are all coming back.”
