The Wales international, who is currently part of the Great Britain side at the Olympics, enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League with Swansea City last term.

Brendan Rodgers now wants to raid his former club to take Allen with him to Liverpool, but his approach is thought to have angered the Liberty Stadium club.

According to the Daily Star, this has alerted the attention of Villas-Boas, who is lining up an offer of £10million in a bid to add the 21-year-old midfielder to his Spurs squad.
