Charles Green aims to keep Ally McCoist at Rangers for the next 25 years.

The former Scotland international striker is a legend at Ibrox dating back to his playing days, and he is now in charge of the struggling club.

McCoist has been assured by new chief executive Charles Green that his place at the club is safe, despite their demotion to the Third Division following liquidation.

"There is no chance we would want Ally to leave the club," he told the Daily Record.
"I want him to be here for the next 25 years. We would never let his contract finish.”
