Nicolas N’Koulou has emerged as a target for Manchester City.

Roberto Mancini is keen to bolster his defensive options this summer, but has had little joy in persuading Liverpool to part with either Daniel Agger or Martin Skrtel.

Thiago Silva, another potential target, has eluded the Italian coach by leaving Milan for Paris St Germain, to add to what has been a frustrating couple of months for the champions.

However, Mancini will fancy his chance of landing Cameroon international N’Koulou, 22, who is under contract at Marseille and rated at around £10million.
