Everton are set to make a move for Kieran Richardson.

The 27-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Sunderland, and Martin O’Neill is prepared to listen to offers for his signature.

David Moyes is said to have placed the former Manchester United youngster near the top of his wanted list, as he looks to add to his squad ahead of the new season.

Richardson can play in a variety of positions, including left fullback – which could prove handy for the Toffees if Leighton Baines moves to Old Trafford.

It is believed the Black Cats would accept a fee of around £3million for their number 11, and this is a fee within the budget at Goodison Park.
