Danny Rose has emerged as a target for Wigan Athletic.

Roberto Martinez is determined to further bolster his squad ahead of the new season, as he looks to avoid a repeat of last term’s struggles.

The Latics have so far only been able to add Ivan Ramis from Real Mallorca and Fraser Fyvie from Aberdeen, but now hope to lure Rose from Tottenham Hotspur.

The versatile 22-year-old is down the pecking order at White Hart Lane, and Martinez hopes to take him on loan with the view to a permanent deal.
