Charlie Adam is wanted by Martin O’Neill at Sunderland.

The Scotland international left Blackpool for Liverpool last summer, but he at times struggled to find his best form for the Merseyside giants.

With Brendan Rodgers now installed as Reds manager, Adam faces an uncertain future, and O’Neill has added him to his list of potential targets.

The Sunderland manager is a long-term admirer of the 26-year-old midfielder, and is prepared to pay £7million to lure him to the Stadium of Light.
