Southampton have entered the race to sign Gaston Ramirez.
The Uruguayan international is regarded as one of the best talents in Italy, and he has been linked with a host of top clubs over the past few months.
Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur would love to lure the 21-year-old forward to England, whilst Serie A champions Juventus want to keep him in Italy.
However, the Daily Mail claims the newly-promoted Saints are hoping to pull off the deal of the summer by taking him to St Mary’s before the 31 August deadline.
Ramirez, though, is unlikely to leave Bologna for a club who are not competing in Europe, and one whose main aim is to retain their top-flight status this season.
