Adam Johnson has been added to Aston Villa’s list of targets.

The Manchester City winger feels he may have to leave the champions before 31 August, as he seeks regular first team football to aid his international chances.

Johnson was left out of England’s squad for Euro 2012, and it is believed Everton have secured first refusal on him as part of the Jack Rodwell sale.

However, Paul Lambert is keen to lure the 24-year-old to Villa Park, and is prepared to offer City a cash deal of £10million for his signature in the coming days.
