Martin Jol remains hopeful that Clint Dempsey will stay at Fulham.
The US international was not involved as the Cottagers beat Norwich City 5-0 on Saturday, after he refused to play in a bid to push through a move to Liverpool.
Jol blasted Dempsey’s actions as embarrassing, but the Dutch coach has now offered an olive branch to the midfielder by revealing he could still play his part this season.
"Hopefully, in the future, he can be involved in the team again," Jol told Sky Sports of the 29-year-old, who is in the final year of his contract. "Clint scored 17 league goals last season.”
