Stoke City are hoping to land Tom Huddlestone on loan.

Tony Pulis is determined to boost his squad ahead of the 31 August deadline, as he looks to build on the progress which has been made in recent years.

It is believed the Stoke boss has set his sights on a deal for Huddlestone, who is thought to be on the outside of first team plans at Tottenham Hotspur.

Andre Villas-Boas is far from convinced that the midfielder can play a key part for him at White Hart Lane, and is prepared to let him leave on loan.
