Manchester United Football Club face some serious competition for Karim Benzema.

Reports at the weekend suggest Sir Alex Ferguson will turn to the France international at the end of the season, with Carlos Tevez set to depart Old Trafford in the summer.

The Reds are said to be willing to pay around £30million for the Lyon youngster, but it is being claimed in Spain that Barcelona will also bid for the striker.

Benzema is likely to leave Lyon when the summer transfer window reopens, and Aujourd'hui Sport report Barca are willing to pay a whopping £50million for his signature.
