Paul McShane could be on his way back to Sunderland Football Club.

McShane is currently on loan at Hull City, but Tigers chairman Paul Duffen is aware the Black Cats can recall the former Manchester United defender during the month of January.

"We have always known that there was a potential for Paul to be recalled but we have cover for that," Duffen said. "Sunderland have been very transparent with us.

“But I don't want to be a hostage to fortune and predict what may or may not happen."
