Hyypia set to extend Liverpool stay
Sami Hyypia appears to have a future at Liverpool Football Club.
The 35-year-old has been excellent for the Reds since a £2.6million transfer in 1999, although he is no longer considered a first team regular by Rafael Benitez.
Hyypia is out of contract at Anfield in the summer and a number of clubs would still like to take him despite his age, but Benitez wants him to remain in Merseyside.
The News of the World claim the Spaniard will offer the 95-time-capped Finland international a player-coaching role next season, as he sees him as the ideal role model to youngsters.
