West Ham United boss wants Faubert stay
11:00 AM 21 January, 2009
Gianfranco Zola wants Julien Faubert to stay at West Ham United Football Club.

The 25-year-old France international has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland with Lyon this month, but Zola believes the midfielder can become a key player at Upton Park.

“I believe in him and he can be an important player for us. If he wants to stay, then I would like to keep him,” said the Italian coach of the Hammers.

Faubert’s debut season in England following his move from Bordeaux in 2007 was ruined by injury, but he has made fifteen starts in the Premier League this term.

Totally agree with our Irish friend - the chap looks desperate. A few million would be a bonus - he's no good at all.

Reckon if we can get back the money we paid for him (or close) we should let him leave. He never showed any real form for us and a few mill would let Franco get someone else in.
