Jamie Carragher has nothing but respect for Manchester United Football Club.

The former England international may well be the heartbeat of the Liverpool side, but the Bootle-born defender can’t deny the respect he has for the Reds big title-rivals.

"I've always had respect for them (Manchester United). They're a proper club, like us, and they should have respect for us as well,” Carragher said in The Guardian.

With United leading the title race on goal difference with a game in hand, 30-year-old Carragher will be desperate to halt their progress when the two teams meet in March.
