Manchester United ace Scholes snubs Cantona & Ronaldo!
02:30 PM 26 January, 2009
There is no place for Eric Cantona or Cristiano Ronaldo is Paul Scholes’ Manchester United Football Club dream XI made up from players he has played alongside.

Scholes has won eight Premier League titles, three FA Cup’s and a UEFA Champions League since breaking into the Reds side in 1993/94.

The former England international has established himself as one of the most popular players in the club’s history, and he has played with some huge talent over the years.

But when picking his personal pick of his team-mates past and present, there is no place for fan’s favourite Cantona or current World Player of the Year Ronaldo.

“Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be happy to hear it but he’s a substitute,” said Scholes, whose team is: Schmeichel, G Neville, Ferdinand, Brown, Irwin, Beckham, Keane, Robson, Giggs, Van Nistelrooy, and Sheringham.

ronaldo may be the best player but there's still a long way to go!! scholes must be right coz he's more experienced even though he's not scored much goals but the quality of goals is absolutely fabulous. remember the goal he gave us against barcelona @ old trafford, n ronaldo missed the penalty away.. so scholes u may be right but ronaldo is still the best according to the fifa n he'e the best scorer in england with more than 30 goals

I think Scholes is getting confused in his old age, Wes Brown over Pallister and Bruce? I agree with the midfield and Ronaldos disclusion but I believe there is a fair bit of bias selecting Sheringham over Cantona/Rooney. JonBoy the Gooner. Well done for knocking out the scum on saturday xxx

Spot on John....Scholes is a legend. He might not be quick on his feet (consider his age), but he dictates the game, which is not that easy to do. People's views of Beckham changed, but nobody can say that the man wasn't a classic in his time at Old Trafford. Besides, its Scholes choice on who he selects....

Fools, all of you (and illiterate, I might add). Paul Scholes stands alongside Duncan Edwards, George Best, Denis Law, Bobby Charlton and Bryan Robson as one of the greatest players EVER to pull on a Manchester United shirt (I expect some of you are now thinking Duncan who? George who?!). Scholes has more technical ability with a football than almost any player I have ever seen, and that includes Ronaldo! He can control the pace and style of an entire game. His passing accuracy and consistency are legendary. His vision is FAR superior to anyone else in the Premiership. His first touch and ability to hold possession under close marking is unrivaled by any player in the world. His movement off the ball is genius! Ronaldo runs fast, scores goals and does tricks - fair enough. Children, girls and Ronaldo love Ronaldo. People who understand football love Paul Scholes. Viva Scholesy!!

He can have his opinion. But I don't think Ronaldo would consider him in his dream team. Nevertheless, Ronaldo is more skilled than Scholes by far. Scholes though has more experience and more drive to help manchester united than Ronaldo. But ever Scholes isn't in my dream team. Also, Scholes isn't in his own dream team :(

Having Beckham on the line up without CR7 is something that is very stupid.Ronaldo is way better than Beckham. Is it because of Cantona and Ronaldo are not Englishman?? All Scholes's team are Englishman plus Roy Keane. What a bias..... Again, Beckham???hahahhaaaaahahhaa...sucks. peace

whether arsene wenger swims or sinks with the club policy on pay, he deserves our respect. sooner than later, most clubs would adopt his style. i really can't wait to hear the applause when he comes out tops at the other side of the ocean.
