Carlo Cudicini has been the subject of much joking from his former Chelsea Football Club pals.

The Italian goalkeeper was on the fringe of a Blues first team challenging for the title, but he has exchanged this for a better chance of regular action with struggling Tottenham Hotspur.

"After 10 seasons at Chelsea, it is normal my old team-mates have been getting in touch," Cudicini said in the Daily Express. "But, yes, they have been taking the Mickey.

"I haven't really thought much about swapping a title challenge for a relegation battle. I had the chance to join a great club and that is the most important thing.

"The situation is not the best, but we are in this situation and will come out of it. Football is crazy. The quality is here. The team has got great players with great qualities.”
