Juventus are believed to be weighing up a summer move for Didier Zokora.

The Italian giants were initially hoping to persuade Liverpool to part with Javier Mascherano in the summer, with an offer of £20million being prepared by the Serie A side.

However, the Bianconeri are said to have accepted the Argentine is unobtainable, and have instead turned their attentions to Ivory Coast ace Zokora.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are rumoured to be weighing up a bid of £12million for the former St Etienne man, although Tottenham Hotspur are ready to resist such an offer.

"Zokora's a top-class player, one that lots of big clubs would ask about,” said manager Harry Redknapp. “He closes space, tackles and is an important player for this club."

The 28-year-old cost Spurs £8million when he moved from France to White Hart Lane in the summer of 2006, and he has since established himself as a favourite amongst fans.
