Portsmouth boss decides against Saviola
Portsmouth manager Tony Adams has decided against pursuing Javier Saviola.
Although chief executive Peter Storrie has revealed a move for the Real Madrid forward is still an option, Adams doesn’t think the Argentine is quite up to speed with match fitness.
"You need people that know the league and can come in and hit the ground running," Adams told Sky Sports. "They take time, even very good players can take six months to a year.
"So when I'm doing medicals and I am looking for players, I am looking for a certain fitness level. That is maybe why I am not taking him (Saviola). I have not pursued it at all.”
