Leeds make Naylor stay permanent
05:00 PM 02 February, 2009
Leeds have made Richard Naylor's loan stay from Ipswich Town a permanent one.

Naylor has signed a two-and-a half year deal after being on loan at Elland Road since January 14th. Naylor moved to Ipswich as a 16-year old from the Leeds Centre of Excellence.

The Leeds-born player has made over 400 appearances for Ipswich and was skipper for a time.

Naylor told the Leeds official website, "I'm really, really pleased this is sorted and after all these years I can finally call myself a Leeds United player. I know my future now, I know it's here, and I want to take this club forward.

"It is strange leaving Ipswich after almost 15 years down there because I'd made that my home.

"The club and the supporters have been good to me. My wife's from Ipswich and my family have been brought up there, but this is an opportunity that is just too good to miss.

"I wouldn't have made a decision like this to go to any other club."
