David Healy is beginning to make his mark at Sunderland Football Club.

The Northern Ireland international striker has struggled since making his summer move from Fulham, appearing just six times in the Premier League.

However, the last of these came on Saturday, when he came off the bench to score his first goal for the club in a 2-0 win over Stoke City.

"David Healy has done super. We had a big chat before the Everton game because we didn't think that he was doing enough," Ricky Sbragia said.

"Since that chat, he's been doing absolutely super. We knew he could do more, that there was more to come from him, that the door isn't closed.

"That's one of the reasons we let Michael Chopra go, we thought David was slightly ahead of him Credit to him, he's been fantastic. He's got on with it, he's got this gift of scoring goals and being in the right place at the right time."
