Emiliano Insua hasn’t yet nailed down a regular place in the Liverpool side.

The Argentine has taken advantage of Fabio Aurelio’s suspension and the lack of form of Andrea Dossena to claim the Reds left-back spot.

However, as the 20-year-old returns from Under-20 action for his national side, Rafael Benitez has told him he must fight for his place.

"Emiliano was doing a good job for us before he went away so we are happy to have him back," the Spaniard told the Liverpool Echo.

"But now he must fight for his place again because the more good players you have competing for different positions the better it is for the team."
