AC Milan are confident of landing David Beckham on a permanent basis.

The England international has hugely impressed the Italian side since joining them in a loan deal from MLS side LA Galaxy in January.

Beckham has made it clear he wants to extend his stay in Serie A, as he looks to safeguard his place in Fabio Capello’s squad.

And after initially struggling to negotiate a deal with Galaxy, Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani is confident the move will go ahead.

"Beckham? We have made good progress within the last few hours," Galliani told La Gazzetta Dello Sport on Thursday afternoon.
