Lovenkrands plans extended Newcastle United stay
Peter Lovenkrands intends to stick around at Newcastle United Football Club.
The Danish winger has a contract at St James Park until the end of the season, following his release by Bundesliga side Schalke.
However, such is he enjoying life in the Premier League, he has revealed he would be more than happy to extend his stay in England.
"It makes you miserable when you are not playing. It was difficult," said Lovenkrands. "I now have that feeling of football is fun back in my body.
"People might laugh when I say I have rediscovered the fun side of the game here, given the ups and downs Newcastle have had, but it is true.
"We have a good set of lads. I am just so happy to be here, play football, get time on the pitch. My family is settled and I am enjoying it.
"I didn't really have that in the last few months in Germany. I wanted to get away and they knew that early this season so they didn't want to use me.
"I had a good first year in Germany and really enjoyed it. In the second year I had injuries and it was difficult times. My family didn't settle."
