Manchester City prepare bumper Owen package
02:00 PM 23 February, 2009
Manchester City Football Club are preparing an offer for Michael Owen.

The England international is out of contract at the end of the season, when he will end his disappointing spell at Newcastle United.

Reports suggest City are favourites to seal a deal for the former Real Madrid and Liverpool star, as Mark Hughes looks to add more quality to his squad.

It is believed the Blues will offer Owen a slight increase on his United wage to around £120,000-per-week, plus a bumper signing-on fee.

Has to be the worst bit of reporting I have seen regarding Man City recently. City have bought Bellamy and desperately need height up front. Hughes said this after the Stoke game. Why would they buy another 5 footer? Seriously author, go and do something else with your life as you will just get laughed at if you continue to write.

Why am I a tit because you wanted to believe this fairytale of a story? Show me a source from City that says we are making a bif for owen and I will believe it until then stories like this are made for people like you. We in Manchester dont believe the hysteria until we actually see it on the MCFC website.
