Bristol City have lost Brian Wilson for the rest of the season.

The 25-year-old right-sided player has been ruled out for the rest of the season after undergoing surgery on a shin splints problem.

"It's good that we found out what the root of the problem was - a compartment syndrome - and he's had to have his muscle released through surgery," manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website.

"It was quite aggressive surgery and he's had metal supports put down his shins.

"He's had the best treatment, the best people have operated on him and they are happy with how it's gone."
