Juan Roman Riquelme is not heading to Newcastle United this summer.

The Magpies have been credited with an interest in the Argentine playmaker, but he has no intention of quitting Boca Juniors.

“I want to play for Boca for many years," said Riquelme after being asked about a possible move to St James Park by Radio Del Plata.

"I played for Barcelona for a year and it didn't go well, and then I experienced four years and a half at Villarreal, which went as well as they have with Boca."
